Nature’s Sanctuary

@Space2b Artspace

From Tuesday 4 – Saturday 29th of July

I am excited to be featured in a solo showcase at Space2b Artspace in St Kilda. I do hope that you will visit and enjoy the exhibition in this community space in St Kilda. Grateful for the supportive environment to share nature story connections.

This curated solo exhibition features mixed-media acrylic paintings, small owl sculptures, and unique artisan bird jewelry. I am a Melbourne artist who explores art stories of nature through an intuitive process of imagined story worlds. Figures and animals transport you into stories of mindful places of calm peaceful connection. These mixed media art pieces are a series of bright connections of uplifting stories.

Imagine Happy –

Playful art stories to nurture your heart and free your wild soul…

Welcome to my listing of current and past exhibitions. I do try and keep this up to date but sometimes I do get lost in the studio. Creating art full-time means that there are so many opportunities to showcase my art and it is such a pleasure to grow my art and learn with every new piece. If you are local I do hope you get a chance to visit one of my current shows. My aim is to inspire your creative soul and create some breathing space in your world through my exploration of spirit animals, angels, and women. Life is such a beautiful web of connections and art and the creative process is a lovely way to explore our world more deeply.

I have started to add photo albums to my Facebook page (Cheryle Bannon Art) to showcase the exhibitions so if you see something you love and would like to purchase it, please email me @ cherylebannon@gmail.com or explore the albums and message me through Facebook.

Enjoy the discovery….every moment is an invitation to connect,

Love and blessings,

Tranquility of Trees CollectionSt Kilda Affordable Art Show

The affordable art show  and my first online launch

I wanted to share some of my current nature stories and have chosen to launch my Tranquility of Trees series as an online exhibition with a real-world exhibition as well. I am in a group show at Space2b in St Kilda from December 1, through to January 29th and do hope you get the chance to see the exhibition in person and browse through this beautiful space.

I have 2 small works in this exhibition which I’m excited about. An opening feels like such a treat. I have been enjoying walks along the Yarra trail…a saving grace over lockdown as I reconnected with nature and Earth wisdom of flowing with the seasons.

I will be sharing a series of A5 works on paper from my Tranquility of Trees collection to coincide with the exhibition opening on December 2nd at 10 AM and links will be on my Instagram page and sent via email. This is all new and I do hope you will join me in this adventure. Join my email list to keep up to date and receive early access on November 30th

PAST EVENTS 2020 -2021

Seven Sisters Festival Community Canvas

In 2020 I was lucky enough to offer a community canvas event that was a delight. Immediately after the festival, everything went into lockdown and I lost my way on my sharing what was happening. It has been an unsettling time for everyone and thankfully we are beginning to open up again.

Dandenong Ranges Open studios 2021

The big event for 2021 was the Dandenong Ranges Open Studios event which is always a joy. It was a space to share in a covid safe way. I have missed the ability to share in so many exhibitions and to gather with other artists and like-minded souls.

Workshops and events

Angel Blessing workshops and Flow Mandala Art workshops launched at Lentil as Anything in Thornbury Follow the workshops link for more information.. Enjoying the space at Lentil as anything and the wholistic market days. Grateful to still have lots of my art scattered through the Lentils as Anything space. The community feeling that is the IFE community at Lentil as Anything in Thornbury has given me a lot of joy and I will continue to be part of this space into the future.

I’m also excited to announce that I will be presenting a workshop and art demonstration at Seven Sisters 2020 and am part of the Open Studios for 2020 in the Dandenong Hills.

Sharing Stories

Animal wisdom connections

Original animal guide art by Cheryle Bannon Solo exhibition August 25th – 26th October 2019 as part of the IFE Community and products  @ Lentil as Anything: 562-564 High Street Thornbury

Sharing Stories is a solo art show by Cheryle Bannon featuring contemporary mixed media artist focusing on animals as guides and familiars. These intuitive paintings of animals explore life as a guided, connected adventure. These art pieces invite you to connect into your own stories of animal wisdom and the natural world. These figurative whimsical artworks embrace Cheryle’s sense of art as mindful spaces of visual storytelling as she invites you to step into these story openings and connect to your own inner guidance.

I have been lucky enough to be invited to be part of the IFE Community that is based at Lentil as Anything in Thornbury. For me, art is all about connecting within the community and finding those stories that inspire joy. I am the first artist to exhibit as part of this community and set up the backroom as the exhibition space. The opening was on August 25th and was part of the wholistic multicultural market that is held there monthly. The exhibition will run from the 25th/8th 2019 until the end of October. Some of the art was exhibited exclusively for the market day and other work was part of the ongoing exhibition. To view the entire exhibition and sales information for all work explore my facebook album for Sharing Stories. I would love it if you commented. Let me know what your animal guide is or what is your favourite image.

BELGRAVE EMPORIUM

I have been lucky enough to have the inside wall of Belgrave Emporium after my window display earlier in the year. I also have a piece in the Enchanted window display in September 2018 to coincide with the Enchanted exhibition at Forest Edge Stone Gallery in Kallista.   The Belgrave Emporium is at 662 Burwood Hwy, Belgrave VIC 3160 and is open from 10 am – 5 pm 7 days a week.

`

BLOOM

It’s Spring and a chance to celebrate with another group show at Forest Edge Stone gallery organised by Fyona Mitaxa from October 10th – 24th. So many lovely opportunities to share art in this lovely space at the heart of the garden at Forest Edge Stone Nursery.

ART OF THE MOUNTAIN

Sharting art in this beautiful Australian Native Botanic Gardens in Karrawarra was a lovely opportunity. If you haven’t wandered through the small gardens then I do recommend it. The gardens are currently in full bloom and a beautiful space to be. The exhibition was all about Australian animals and wildlife so I put in a few of my favorites.

EARTH

Earth is a group show of artists who are passionate about the environment and explores a variety of art focusing on our planet and the animals that live there.

ENCHANTED

Opening at Forest Edge Stone gallery on the 7th of September until the end of the month. Watch this space as I am still completing pieces for the set up on Friday 6th September. Looking forward to sharing enchantment as we gather our art dreaming into the beautiful little gallery space at the heart of the Forest Edge Stone Nursery in Kallista.

FROST

Frost is a mid-winter exhibition that coincides with the Belgrave Lantern Parade. It was a lovely opportunity to explore animal guides in a winter landscape. A beautifully coordinated community event.

Creative Harvest March 2019

It is February 28th and my solo show comes down and I help hang the next group show at Forest Edge Stone Gallery in Kallista. I have developed 2 new pieces to exhibit along with art from many other talented artists in the hills. The opening of Creative Harvest s this Saturday from 11- 2 pm and will be a lovely celebration of our creative endeavours. If you want some inspiration and the beautiful surroundings of the hills at the edge of Sherbrooke Forest then do join us as we celebrate and share inspiration. Friendly Creatures will be playing at the opening to add to the magic in the air as we connect and enjoy the beauty in all its forms. I will add opening photos of course and share the joy of the event at Forest Edge Stone Gallery 74 Monbulk Road Kallista.

BELGRAVE EMPORIUM: Window display and inside wall

Wednesday 5th –  through February and into March

I am showcasing some of my smaller spirit animal pieces in the window of the Belgrave Emporium which is a large retro shop in Belgrave that showcases lots of local artists and bits and pieces. It is a lovely extension from the opportunities to exhibit at Forest Edge Stoe and I feel very grateful to be part of this community. It is one of those stores which is like a mini market as you wander through the stallholders displays. Really pleased to have this added opportunity in the Dandenong Hills and it is just 5 minutes down the road from Kallista. Lucy is one of the owners of the Belgrave Emporium and has been incredibly generous. I now also have a display along the main wall and have several larger pieces of girls with animal guides and angels. It is lovely to be able to share in such a connected community space.

Spirit of the Wild Thing

SPIRIT OF THE WILD THING

FEBRUARY  1ST – 28TH 2019

I am so excited to be sharing my spirit animal art at Forest Edge Stone Gallery. This small gallery space is set in the heart of the forest Edge Stone Nursery in Kallista at the edge of Sherbrooke Forrest. A very special location and the perfect setting for my spirit animal art pieces. For this show, I have created intuitive mixed media art pieces. Some are mixed media resin pieces and others are acrylic mixed media pieces. I have currently got 26 art pieces on show and as pieces sell I exchange them for another piece as the art goes to its new home. As I have created over 60 pieces of work in my spirit animal series, I have an abundance to add and love seeing the pieces find a space to share their energy. It is fascinating to see the animal connections people make as we are all naturally drawn to different animals.

MEET THE ARTIST: Saturday 16th February

If you were not able to attend the opening but you would love to visit, the exhibition is open Thursday through to Sunday each week. I have organised a meet the artist day on Saturday the 16th from 11 am – 2.30. I will be creating in the gallery space and would love you to join me for a cool drink and a wander through the gallery.

RICHMOND LIBRARY INSTALLATION 2018

This is a mini solo showcase of my whimsical owls. I have developed a large range of pieces to fill this large display case at the entrance of Richmond Library. This is a Contemporary Art Society run opportunity for its members. All the art on show is for sale. I decided to make this a unique space filled with guiding owl wisdom. The installation includes one-off wearable art brooches, small owl sculptures, mixed media paintings and small black ink pen drawings. It was so much fun to install and my little parliament of owls is very happy to be living in this space for the next three months. It is a busy little installation but somehow fits the nature of these curious and wise creatures as they gaze at the world in wonder. They will make you smile and perhaps one of them will call you and find a new home. All art pieces are for sale through CAS – Contemporary Art Society of Victoria. Lots more time to enjoy a wander down Swan Street, enjoy the whimsical art and have lunch at one of the wonderful restaurants in Richmond.
