I am just playing with another present idea. My friend loves dancing so these pre-made dance scrabble -look small canvases were perfect. Of course I had too explore the possibilities. Plain is boring. So stencils and my favourite walnut ink sprays come into play. I needed a dance stencil so I made one and cut it out of a thin plastic sheet.. Should have really put the butterflies in the ‘c’ but as I said I was too busy playing and exploring. I do like the mirror image effect. Aimed at simple colour contrast with the Golden cobalt turquoise liquid acrylics. The walnut inks don’t dry quickly so there is the waiting time. The ink on the black bled a bit but I quite like the effect. I want this to stay fairly simple but not quite there with just the 2 colours. Still exploring.
So I have added cobalt turquoise as mentioned and then more butterflies flying out from the figure coming in from off the side of the canvas. This makes the image come together as it Links theA and E canvas. It is getting there but I will add line work once this layer is dry.
Okay the hills need to be one hill and some grass strokes would help. Also need to extend the hill a little so the canvass feel more connected. I’ll add the final once it’s dry and I have had a chance to add the final touches but that will do for now…drying time and time to go back and write more reports but do need to complete it tonight.
I believe she is finished . I wanted to show the sense of growth and energy…the flow of the dance so I took the image further. It is finished unless I add some highlights. I like the strong contrast and different format. Anyway this is where she ended up tonight.
