I am playing with another work on paper. The canvases are left against the wall as it is peak hour for teaching as I finalise reports but if I don’t manage at least a small window of studio time I will not be responsible for my sanity level. Going to my studio is breathing space amongst the chaos and once I am there time flows differently.
I am enjoying the contrast. I want to be careful not to go too much further or l will lose the looseness. She is framed through a window amidst a garden. She is growth, possibilities and openings as she supports her child in her arms.
She started as pure play as most of my works on paper do. The canvas pieces tend to be more planned rather than the freedom I allow in the paper pieces where there is a sense of unlimited choice as I explore and search for shapes and forms revealed within the layers. The background has very little change as I add to the strength of contrast within the window.
